Girls Cross Country Competes at States, Schopieray Takes 4th

Fourth place out of 238 runners. That’s an impressive finish for anyone — let alone a freshman but that’s exactly what Cadillac’s Kendall Schopieray did on Saturday. She went into the state finals ranked 10th but her time of 18:36 was good enough to move her up six spots. Schopieray earned all-state honors with the 4th place finish.

Girls Cross Country Advances to State Finals

The boys and girls cross country teams ran to a fourth place finish at the Big North Conference finals in Gaylord on Tuesday. On the boys’ side, Alpena took the title with 37 points. Cross Country 12th and 15th at Meet

The varsity cross country team competed at Calvin College over the weekend in one of their largest meets of the year. The boys team finished 15th on the day in their divison. The Vikings were led by the 22nd place finish of Tim Carlington with a time of 17:19, while Zach Elmore finished 24th in 17:29.3.
