The varsity girls wanted to get off to a good start this year. They did just that. They rolled their highest Baker scores ever to give TC West a run for their money for the Big North Conference. The lady Vikings qualified second and had to bowl against Traverse City Central in the semifinals. They rolled games of 170 and 160 to easily move into the final against West. Those games are the highest two games they’ve ever bowled and it was really fun to watch them. In the final, the girls won the first game by two pins. They ended up falling just 17 pins short of the title, losing the last game by 19. It was a real statement for the program and hopefully an eye opener for these girls. West is a well established program and now I hope we learned that we can beat them if we bowl our best. I couldn’t be more proud of the way these ladies handled themselves on the lanes. Kaitlyn Vermilyea took second overall in the individual portion to make first team all conference. Eddie Kelsey finished 8th and Priscilla Williams 10th to earn second team all conference honors. The Lady Vikings will be in action against Bellaire at 11:00 am at Lucky Jacks.
