Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Soccer Shuts Out Alpena Wildcats


The JV and varsity girls soccer teams netted big wins over Alpena on Thursday. The varsity held the Wildcats scoreless, winning 5-0 while the JV team only gave up one goal in their 5-1 victory.

Lydia Schamanek kicked off the scoring for Cadillac just three minutes into the game. Chesni Birgy scored the second goal of the night off an assist from Abby Kovacevich. Lindsay Meier made it 3-0 just two minutes later. Schamanek then completed a hat trick scoring the next two goals for Cadillac and Kovacevich recorded a second assist. Molly Anderson had the shutout in goal.

Avery Meyer had a hat trick in the JV game while Avery Mickelson scored one goal and had one assist. Emma Johnson scored one goal, Jazmin Angell recorded two assists, and Mairyn Kinnie had an assist. Elizabeth Baker recorded two saves in goal for the Vikings. 

The varsity team plays in a Birch Run Invitational on Saturday.
