The varsity baseball and softball teams traveled to Traverse City on Tuesday to take on Central. The Trojans came out victorious in both doubleheaders.
The first game on the softball diamond was decided by only one run as the Trojans came out on top 12-11. The Vikings dropped the second game 13-5.
Ashlyn Lundquist was on the mound in the opener. She allowed five earned runs on 12 hits and two walks while striking out nine.
At the plate, Brooklyn Hoffert had two hits and drove in five runs while Mady Smith had three hits and two RBIs. Lundquist added four hits while Alana Hoffert had a hit and RBI. Emma Maury had two hits and an RBI, Layke Sims, Marisa Wilde, and Stella Balcom all had one hit apiece.
Lundquist pitched game two, as well. She allowed 10 earned runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out five. Wilde recorded two hits and an RBI at the plate for the Vikings while Lundquist and Alana Hoffert had two hits each. Maury also had a hit.
The Trojans swept the Vikings on the baseball diamond, as well. They won game one 8-4 and shutout Cadillac in game two, 7-0.
Jakin Metzger and Cole Jenema pitched in game one. Ethan Sharp led the Vikings at the plate with two hits and an RBI while Kaleb McKinley and Jenema each had a hit and RBI. Miles Maury drove in one run and Fisher Moore had a hit.
Darek Satchell was on the mound in game two, allowing five earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one in 1.2 innings of work. Keenan Suminski, McKinley, Sharp and Moore each had one hit apiece for Cadillac.
Both teams travel to Mason County Central on Thursday.
