The Cadillac volleyball team is happy to have the regional trophy back in their possession after falling short two years in a row.  Thursday’s win makes for 12 regional championships in a span of 15 years for Coach Michelle Brines.  The Vikings faced Escanaba on Thursday at Houghton Lake High School. The Eskymos put a fight in the first set against the Vikings but Cadillac came out on top of all three sets, winning 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.

Macy Brown led the Vikings with 22 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and an ace while Renee Brines recorded 32 assists, nine digs, a block and a kill. Caliey Masserang had three kills and three blocks while Layke Sims added two blocks, four digs and a kill. Angela Mo also added 10 digs and an ace for the Vikings.

Cadillac plays Birch Run next Tuesday at Alma High School. Tickets will be sold online through — we will post that information when we receive it from the MHSAA. The game starts at 6:00 PM. Winner will advance to the state semi-final game at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek.
