The cross country team wrapped up their regular season on Tuesday at the Big North Conference finals. The girl’s team placed third in the BNC while the boy’s team placed fifth.
On the girls’ side, Traverse City Central won the title with 37 points while Petoskey placed second with 51, Cadillac third at 76, Traverse City West fourth at 79, Alpena fifth at 144 and Gaylord sixth at 164.
Chloie Musta led the Vikings with a fifth-place finish in 19:25 — earning First Team All-Conference. Kendall Schopieray finished 11th in 19:56, Gwen Phillips 17th in 20:41, Heather Eller 19th in 20:45, Marisa Mazza 24th in 21:14, Ellie Cool 25th in 21:19 and Ellah Santangelo 32nd in 22:31.
For the boy’s team, freshman Nolan Nixon led the Vikings with a 19th place finish in 18:16. Carson Carlington placed 27th in 19:15, Jackson Hilt 28th in 19:20, Brayden Oberhaus 32nd in 19:54, Gavin Phillips 37th in 20:27, Logan Boolman 38th in 20:52 and Gabe Outman 40th in 21:24.
TC Central won the boys’ title as well, scoring 20 points. TC West took second at 47, Petoskey third at 57, Alpena fourth at 107, Cadillac fifth at 143 ad Gaylord sixth at 162.
Cadillac will run in a Division 2 Pre-Regional on Monday at Benzie Central. The boys run at 5:30 and the girls at 6:00.
