The varsity boys basketball team finished the regular season 17-4 overall but Monday started their postseason journey. Cadillac opened Districts against Manistee, a team they beat by 46 points earlier in the season. The rematch looked very similar. The Vikings beat the Chippewas 67-24 to advance to the District semi-finals on Wednesday.
Cadillac jumped out to a quick 20-9 lead after the first quarter and held them to just two points in the second to extend the lead to 34-11 at halftime. It turned into a running clock mid-way through the third quarter as the Vikings held a 34 point lead going into the fourth quarter.
Evan Borr led Cadillac with 13 points while Cole Jenema added 11 and Levi Klotz scored nine points.
Ludington won the second game of the night against Benzie. Cadillac will play Big Rapids at 6:00 on Wednesday in the Performance Gym — Ludington and Reed City will play at 8:00. Tickets are $6.00 per person and are good for both games (no season passes).
