Two state ranked teams faced off on the hardwood Monday night — Glen Lake came out victorious over the varsity girls basketball team 43-37. The loss is the first for the Vikings this season, they now hold a 14-1 record.
The two teams looked evenly matched throughout the first half, despite the Vikings playing without guard Makenna Bryant. The Lakers held a three point lead after the first quarter before Cadillac took a two point lead into halftime 25-23. The Lakers switched to a zone defense in the second half and the Viking struggled to score from that point on, scoring just 12 points in the final two quarters.
Molly Anderson paced the Vikings with 13 points while Madi Drabik scored 11, Livi Meyer nine, and Joslyn Seeley added four points.
Cadillac won the JV game 49-31. Kendall Schopieray led the Vikings with 17 points while Ashlyn Lundquist scored 13, Gracie Tweedale and Layke Sims both scored eight.
The Vikings travel to Petoskey on Thursday.
