Sunshine.. fresh snow.. their home hill — it was the perfect combination for the Cadillac ski teams to compete in the Division 2 Regionals on Monday. Both the boys and girls teams placed second overall — allowing them to advance to the State Finals in two weeks.
East Grand Rapids won the boys title with 94 points while the Vikings were just 3 points behind them for second place. Grand Rapids Christian also qualified for States with their third place finish.
On the Giant Slalom course, Ben Meyer led the Vikings with a third place finish while Elliot Lavigne took 11th, Chris Anderson 12th, and Ethan Sharp 17th.
In Slalom, Lavigne placed ninth, Sharp 13th, Meyer 14th, and Kyle Conradson 18th.
On the girls’ side, East Grand Rapids also won that title with 73 points. Cadillac placed second with 94.5 points and Grand Rapids Northview took third with 171.5 points.
Emilee Houk led Cadillac with fourth place finishes in both the GS and Slalom. Georgette Sake placed 14th in GS, Libbey Lloyd 15th, and Jill Cool 20th. In Slalom, Sake took sixth, Lloyd eighth, and Cool 23rd.
The State Finals will take place on February 24th at Nubs Nob. The Vikings wrap up their BNC races on Tuesday at Caberfae Peaks.
