Eight games in and they’re still perfect. The varsity boys basketball team handed Essexville-Garber a 54-33 loss on Tuesday night to improve their record to 8-0.
The Vikings held a steady lead in the first half thanks in part to sharp shooting by Evan Borr who scored 11 of Cadillac’s first 15 points. The Vikings held a ten point lead at halftime, and on the defensive end, held the Dukes to ten points or less in each quarter, allowing them to extend their lead to 39-23 at the end of the third quarter.
Borr led all scorers with 21 points while Cole Jenema recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Cadillac’s JV team beat the Dukes 63-43. Jaden Montague scored 18 for the Vikings while Jay Gulish added 14 and Aden Gurden scored 11.
The freshman team completed the sweep with a four point victory, 46-42. Davin Brown and Keenan Marr each scored 15 for Cadillac while Jacob LaMonde added 11.
