The varsity girls basketball team picked up another non-conference win on Thursday – beating Mt Pleasant 45-28 to improve their record to 8-0 overall.
The Vikings led all game and held the Oilers to nine points or less each quarter. Cadillac led 10-6 after the first quarter and 25-12 at halftime before extending that lead to 17 by the end of the game. Makenna Bryant led the Vikings in scoring with 18 points, Molly Anderson scored nine while Makayla Knight and Joslyn Seeley each added five.
Cadillac won the JV game 43-13. Kendall Schopieray led the Vikings with 15 points while Ashlyn Lundquist scored 13.
The freshman boys and girls basketball teams played Ogemaw Heights. The girls’ team won 36-8 over the Falcons. Frannie Kiomento scored 16 points for Cadillac and Alazeah Reed scored ten. The boys’ team won 48-23. Derek Rood led the Vikings with 13 points while Riley Wade scored 11 and Davin Brown added nine.
The boys play again tonight at home against Alpena while the girls’ program plays on Monday at home against Benzie Central. Freshman and JV start at 5:30 with varsity to follow.
