The varsity girls basketball team started their week on the road at Bay City Central. Cadillac entered the game 6-o overall — and they remain undefeated now at 7-0 with a 39-26 win over the Warriors.
It certainly wasn’t Cadillac’s best shooting performance but the Vikings stepped up defensively, holding the Warriors to 8 points or less each quarter — and less than 20% field goal percentage overall. Cadillac led just 7-4 after the first quarter and 20-11 at halftime. Five quick points by Livi Meyer in the third helped extend Cadillac’s lead and hold a ten point lead after three quarters.
Molly Anderson paced the Vikings with a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 12 rebounds while Makenna Bryant scored ten points for Cadillac.
The Vikings won the JV game as well, 57-33. Kendall Schopieray led with 20 points and Ashlyn Lundquist scored 12.
The Freshman team fell to the Warriors, 27-22. Maddie Guernsey paced the team with eight points.
Cadillac’s JV and Varsity teams travel to Mt Pleasant on Thursday while the Freshman team will play at Rose City Middle School (Ogemaw Heights).
