The varsity girls basketball team got out to a hot start against Kingsley on Tuesday night. The Stags tried to stage a comeback after halftime but the Vikings were able to hold them off for a 54-48 victory.
Cadillac jumped out to an 11-0 lead just three minutes into the game and held a 21-9 lead at the end of one. Kingsley cut the lead to 8 with less than a minute left before halftime but back to back three’s by Madi Drabik and Molly Anderson extended the lead back to 14 at the end of the second quarter. The Stags outscored Cadillac in the second half 28-20 but the Vikings managed to hold on for the six point win.
Molly Anderson led Cadillac with 23 points and nine steals while Makenna Bryant scored 14 and Olivia Meyer added eight points.
Cadillac won the JV game 44-26 with Kendall Schopieray leading the Vikings with 14 points and Ila Geister scored eight.
Cadillac will host Alpena on Friday with JV starting at 5:30 and Varsity will follow. The Freshman team will also play at home on Friday against Fremont, they will play in the Jr High at 5:30.
