Multiple Teams · Vikings Win OT Thriller Against TC Central

They needed all 32 minutes plus some to pull out the win over Traverse City Central but they got it done. The varsity boys basketball team won a thriller in overtime, beating the Trojans 47-41 on Tuesday night.

Traverse City jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead forcing the Vikings to call an early timeout to regroup. They slowly started to settle in but still went into halftime down 25-14. They struggled to get much closer in the third but two quick layups by the Vikings in the final seconds of the third cut the deficit to 5 going into the fourth quarter. With 20 seconds left and down by two, Tipp Baker hit the game-tying shot to send it to overtime. The Vikings held the Trojans scoreless in OT and came out victorious, 47-41.

Cole Jenema and Tipp Baker each scored 13 for Cadillac while Wyatt Vinson added nine points and David Johns pulled down 10 boards. The Vikings remain undefeated at 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Cadillac won the JV game 53-21. Jaden Montague led the Vikings with 11 points, Caden Windover and Connor McGowan each scored ten. The freshman team completed the sweep with a two point victory, 39-37. Davin Brown scored 11 for Cadillac while Derek Rood scored 8 and Keenan Marr scored 7.

The Vikings will now have a three week break over the holidays and resume playing on January 6 at Big Rapids.
