It looked like it was going to be an easy sweep for the Vikings but Petoskey made Cadillac work for their win. The Vikings came out on top in five sets, winning 25-21, 25-16, 22-525, 23-25, 15-10. The win keeps the Vikings atop the BNC standings with a perfect 7-0 record.
Renee Brines led Cadillac with 49 assists, 26 digs, four kills, four blocks, and an ace. Macy Brown recorded 32 kills, 23 digs and two blocks while Chloe Comstock had 21 digs, 10 kills, and six aces. Maggie Neiss added seven blocks, six kills and two digs while Makenna Bryant recorded 29 digs, Brooke Lorenz had 14 digs, and Joslyn Seeley added three kills and two blocks.
Cadillac won the JV match, as well, 25-14, 20-25, 25-21. Top servers for the Vikings were Karsyn Kastl and Julia Jezak.
Petoskey won the freshman match 25-21, 17-25, 21-25.
Next Wednesday is the annual Dig Pink game – all proceeds from the event will go to the Side-Out Foundation and Munson Healthcare Cadillac for Breast Cancer awareness. T-shirts can be purchased in the Athletic Office beginning tomorrow afternoon for $10 (includes free admission into the game) and also under the bleachers at the home football game Friday night.
