Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Takes Home District Trophy!


For the first time in eight years, the boys baseball team was crowned Division 2 District Champs! The Vikings started the day with an 8-4 win over Ogemaw Heights. Cale Mickelson pitched for Cadillac in the opener, allowing four earned runs on three hits while striking out two. Lundquist got the save on the mound. Offensively, Alex Netzley had three doubles with an RBI while Lundquist added two hits and an RBI. Ryan Cox had an RBI double and Isaac Heyd had a hit with an RBI. Jaykob Smith added two hits while Mickelson and Allan Scheurer recorded an RBI.

That win got them to the District Final game against Ludington. The Orioles jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning but they wouldn’t score again. Scheurer was on the mound, he gave up three earned runs on three hits while striking out two. The Vikings rallied in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead to secure the win. Netzley had two hits and an RBI at the plate. Mickelson added a two-run triple while Braedan Lundquist and Robters had two hits. Scheuer also recorded an RBI.

The Vikings play the regional semi-final game on Wednesday against Petoskey. Cadillac gets the home field advantage playing here at Mills Field at 5:00. The winner will advance to the regional finals on Saturday at Saginaw Valley University. Admission is $6 per person, season passes cannot be used.
