The varsity boys baseball team got a unique experience on Tuesday – playing under the lights at Cornerstone University. The Vikings split with Hesperia, winning the first game 12-3 before dropping the second 10-3.
Cale Mickelson pitched the first game for Cadillac, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out five. Offensively, Alex Netzley had two hits and two RBI’s. Jake Roberts recorded two hits, as did Mickelson. Braeden Lundquist, Isaac Heyd, Ryan Cox, and Allan Scheurer all had one hit apiece.
Scheurer was on the mound in game two. Collin Johnston led the way at the plate with a hit and two RBI’s. Colin Hess, Matt Green, Heyd, and Scheurer each had one hit.
The Vikings host Ogemaw Heights on Saturday for districts. They play the noon game with the winner advancing to district finals at 2:00. Entry to the game is $6 per person. Season passes cannot be used at post-season games.
