Girls High School Track, High School Track · Local Athletes Compete in Cadillac News Meet


The top track athletes from around the area gathered at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium on Monday for the 47th Annual Cadillac News Memorial Day Track Meet.

In the boys’ events, Dylan Fauble and Zach Elmore were the lone Vikings to win their event. Fauble took first in discus and Elmore won pole vault. Fauble also took second in shot put with Tipp Baker coming in third. The 4×800 relay team finished second and the 4×100 relay came in third. Ben Kohler finished second in the 400m dash while Tim Carlington took third in the 800m run and the 4×400 relay team came in second.

For the girls’ team, Brooke Kochanny won shot put and took second in discus. Gabi Metzger finished third in high jump as did the 4×200 relay team. Cadillac’s 4×800 relay team won the event while the 4×200 team finished third. Makenna Bryant took second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles. Kendall Schopieray won the 3200m run and placed second in the 1600m run. The 4×400 relay team took second place as did Chloie Musta in the 400m dash.

State finals are this Saturday at Zeeland Stadium. Schopieray, Musta, Metzger, Heather Eller, Bryant, Kochanny, Baker, Elmore, and Fauble will compete individually. Good luck, Vikings!
