The varsity softball team fell 3-1 and 15-5 to the Kingsley Stags on Monday in a non-conference match up.
Ashlyn Lundquist pitched the first game for the Vikings, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out five. At the plate, Melodee Eastman, Autumn Fosmore and Paige Jenema each recorded one hit apiece while Shelby Townsend had the lone RBI for the Vikings.
In game two, Brooklyn Hoffert took the loss on the mound, allowing nine earned runs on 12 hits while striking out one. Offensively, Townsend led the way with two hits and an RBI, while Maggie Staub had two hits. Makayla Knight recorded a hit and RBI while Alana Hoffert had a two-run triple. Fosmore and Lundquist each had one hit.
The Vikings travel to Petoskey today while the JV team hosts the Northmen at Lincoln Field.
