The JV baseball team swept TC Central on Tuesday. Cadillac took the first game by the score of 5-2. Darek Satchell was on the mound in the first game, striking out five in four innings and allowing one earned run. Logan McGee pitched in relief and earned the save. Ethan Sharp had two hits while Jakin Metzger recorded a hit and stolen base and Cole Jenema added two RBIs at the plate.
In game two, Cadillac came from behind to secure the second victory. Jenema pitched for the Vikings, striking out four in four innings. Nathan Moore and Jay Gulish came in and pitched great as relievers. A strong sixth inning performance by Colin Hess behind the plate stopped TC runners from scoring. Satchell and Sharp each had a hit and RBI. Jenema recorded a double while Metzger had another hit and stolen base.
The JV team is now undefeated at 4-0. They play on Friday at home vs Mason County Central before hosting a four team invite on Saturday.
On the softball diamond, the Vikings fell to TC Central in both games. The Trojans won game one 15-0. Madyson Smith pitched for the Vikings, allowing eight runs while striking out three. Despite strong defense from the Vikings in the first three innings of both games, TC Central really started hitting the ball in the second half of the games. The Trojans won game two by the score of 18-9. Marisa Wilde and Smith both pitched. Offensively, Kasandra Penix went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Vikings.
Cadillac hosts Mesick on Friday and again on Saturday along with two other teams in their annual home invitational. Games start at 10:00 am.
