Girls High School Track, High School Track · Girls Track Beats TC Central, Boys Come up Short


The girls track team had an impressive showing on Wednesday at TC Central, taking first place in several events.

Lindsey Tonello took first in all of her events, including the 100 dash, 200 dash, and long jump. Chloie Musta took the top spot in the 400 dash. Kendall Schopieray won the 1600 run and 3200 run. Makenna Bryant beat out the competition in the 100 hurdles and the 300 hurdles while the 4×100 relay team of Peace Odiase, Lina Schwerch, Madeleine Guernsey and Julia Jezak took first. The 4×400 relay team of Musta, Tonello, Gabi Metzger and Bryant also won, as did the 4×800 relay team of Musta, Renee Brines, Heather Eller and Schopieray. Odiase also won the high jump.

On the boys’ side, TC Central came out on top. For Cadillac, Tipp Baker took first in the 200 dash and discus. Tim Carlington won the 400 dash and was in the winning 4×800 relay along with Jared Denike, Derek Tonello, and Zach Elmore. Elmore also won pole vault while Dylan Fauble won shot put. The 4×200 relay team of Carter Harsh, Cole Flint, Logan Wilde and Baker took first, as did the 4×400 relay team of Wilde, Harsh, Flint and Carlington.

The Vikings compete at Battle Creek Lakeview on Friday.
