The varsity softball team picked up its first two wins of the season on Tuesday, beating Reed City 13-5 and 13-7.
Freshman Ashlyn Lundquist got the win in the first game for the Vikings. She allowed four earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out nine.
At the plate, Melodee Eastman recorded a double, triple and two RBI’s. Alana Hoffert had two hits and three RBI’s while Autumn Fosmore had an RBI double. Rylee Anderson had a single, double and three RBI’s while Maggie Staub recorded a single, triple and an RBI. Brooklyn Hoffert and Shelby Townsend had a hit a piece.
In game two, freshman Brooklyn Hoffert got the win, allowing six earned runs on 16 hits and two walks while striking out one.
Eastman led the way at the plate with four hits and an RBI while Lundquist recorded three hits and four RBI’s. Townsend, Alana Hoffert and Abby Wetherell each had two hits and three RBIs apiece Fosmore recorded two hits. Anderson had a hit and an RBI and Makayla Knight an RBI.
On the JV side, Cadillac tied Reed City 6-6 in the first game and won 17-4 in the second.
Maddy Stange led the way at the plate in the first game with two hits and two RBI’s. Molly McKeever and Maddison Sigler had two hits apiece. Alexis Henry recorded a hit and an RBI. Amber McAllister and Madyson Smith each had a hit while Katelyn Sessions had an RBI.
In game two, Marisa Wilde had three hits and three RBIs while Smith had a hit and two RBIs. Emma Maury recorded a hit and three RBIs, while Stange had two RBIs. McAllister and McKeever each had a hit and an RBI while Emily Gregory had one hit.
Smith got the win in game two for the Vikings.
The Vikings play Manistee on Thursday and Benzie Central on Friday (JV home both days, Varsity away).
