Thanks to several game cancellations over the last few weeks, the boys and girls basketball teams got to cheer each other on at Petoskey High School on Thursday in a doubleheader.
The girls played the early game, beating Petoskey 45-27. Cadillac jumped out to an early lead, holding the Northmen to just 5 points in the first quarter — and leading 29-11 at halftime. Molly Anderson scored 17 for the Vikings, Macy Brown had 11 while Makenna Bryant and Livi Meyer scored six.
Cadillac’s JV team won 49-26 while the freshman team dropped a 24-19 decision to Petoskey.
On the boys side, Cadillac struggled to score against the Northmen. Petoskey led 12-8 after the first quarter and 24-17 at halftime. They held on for the rest of the game, earning a 48-35 victory over the Vikings. Aidan Raffaele led Cadillac with 13 points, Tipp Baker scored nine, and Cale Mickelson five.
Cadillac’s JV and freshman teams also lost, 60-52 and 52-37, respectively.
