Two local rivals matched up in a hard-fought game Tuesday night that also raised money for a great cause. Cadillac hosted its first ever Coaches vs. Cancer basketball game to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. The Vikings scraped out a 44-38 win over the McBain Ramblers.
Cadillac, donning special purple uniforms, held a one point lead at the end of the first quarter and extended it to six at halftime, 25-19. It was a physical game from start to finish but Cadillac hung on for the win.
Aidan Raffaele led Cadillac with 19 points, Cale Mickelson added 12, and Tipp Baker scored six.
Cadillac also won the JV game, 64-23. Connor McGowan scored 15 points and Colin Hess added 12.
The Vikings travel to TC Central on Friday.
The varsity girls teams from Cadillac and McBain will face off on February 12th for the second Coaches vs. Cancer benefit game.
