Multiple Teams · Boys Basketball Tops Gaylord

The varsity boys basketball team opened up conference play against Gaylord on Friday and earned their first win of the season, beating the Blue Devils 68-45.

Cadillac led 19-13 after the first quarter, a few big three pointers in the second quarter helped stretch that lead to 33-21 at halftime.

The Vikings hit 12 3-pointers during the game. Aidan Raffaele paced Cadillac with 12 points and five rebounds while Cale Mickelson also scored 12 points. Levi Klotz had 11 points while Tipp Baker added seven points, nine assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Cadillac varsity (1-1) and JV hosts Reed City on Tuesday.

•Cadillac JV also won the JV game, 51-21. Freshman Cole Jenema paced the Vikings with 10 points while Logan Boolman had seven.

The freshman team completed the sweep of the Blue Devils•, winning 56-10.

Blake Swiger and Caden Windover had eight points apiece while Aden Gurden and Jakin Metzger each scored seven. 

The freshman team travels to Big Rapids today for a 4:00 game.
